Using visitor.us to broker a vehicle purchase from a dealer
Don't want to waste your holiday planning time playing phone tag with a car salesman in another hemisphere?
visitor.us is a licensed auto dealer, and can purchase a vehicle that you have identified on your behalf.
When visitor.us brokers a vehicle for you, we set up back-to-back purchase agreements, whereby visitor.us buys the vehicle from the seller, and you buy the vehicle from visitor.us.
The process is as follows:
visitor.us contacts the selling dealer and obtains a written purchase order with a final, out-the-door price.
visitor.us sends a purchase order to you for electronic signature in an amount equal to the dealer's purchase order price.
When you sign visitor.us' purchase order, visitor.us signs the dealer's purchase order.
visitor.us requests a funds transfer from you in the amount of the purchase order price in USD, or the equivalent amount (net of foreign exchange fees) in EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD, CAD, or SGD - whichever is most convenient for you.
visitor.us exchanges your funds for USD (if necessary) and immediately remits them to the selling dealer.
Using visitor.us to broker the sale of your vehicle at a wholesale auto auction
Selling your vehicle at a wholesale auto auction can be a much easier experience than selling to an individual or dealer.
Only licensed member dealers can submit vehicles to wholesale auto auctions. visitor.us is a licensed auto dealer with a membership to Manheim, the largest wholesale auto auction house in the United States.
When visitor.us brokers the sale of a vehicle for you, you simply drop your vehicle off at one of Manheim's 80+ convenient locations around the country.
The process is as follows:
visitor.us orders an inspection of your vehicle, whereby a Manheim employee physically inspects your vehicle and delivers a Condition Report.
Based on the Condition Report and recent comparable auction results, visitor.us recommends a reserve price (or minimum sale price).
Manheim auctions your vehicle to dozens of dealers, and the highest bidder wins.
If the highest bid is lower than the reserve price, the vehicle does not sell, and it will be listed at the following week's auction.
When the vehicle sells, Manheim pays visitor.us the sale price, less the auction fee (usually $400-$500), and visitor.us pays you in the currency most convenient for you.
Ongoing vehicle registration
If you want to keep your vehicle, visitor.us can keep your vehicle's registration current for as long as you want.
In order to stay current, your Montana LLC and your vehicle's registration need to be maintained.
Here's how it works:
visitor.us files your LLC's annual report with the State of Montana, keeping it in Good Standing for the following year.
visitor.us renews your vehicle's registration and receives a new registration document and license plate decal in the mail, reflecting your new registration's expiration date.
visitor.us couriers your registration document and decal to a location convenient to you.
Additional vehicles
visitor.us can help you register additional vehicles - such as camping trailers, fifth wheels, or motorcycles.
The process is the same as the process to register your first vehicle, except that LLC formation is not required.
Submit your additional vehicle's details on the visitor.us Dashboard.
visitor.us will generate and email you a Fedex shipping label to send your additional vehicle's prior title to visitor.us for registration.
visitor.us will generate and email you a Montana 40-day temp tag, which will let you use the vehicle while your registration is in process.
visitor.us will register your additional vehicle to your Montana LLC and notify you when your license plates and registration document are ready.
Provide a shipping address for your license plates and registration document and we'll Fedex them to you.
Your additional vehicle's Montana title will be ready 6-8 weeks after registration (depending on the State of Montana's workload), and we'll coordinate delivery of this document to you as well.
